A joint Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR)-International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) meeting of pigeon pea pathologists from Asia was organised at ICRISAT Asia Centre to discuss the results of collaborative trials conducted during the past 5 years and to develop future programmes of work to study pathogenic variability in wilt (Fusarium udum), sterility mosaic (pigeonpea sterility mosaic virus) and Phytophthora blight pathogens. Pathologists from India, Myanmar, Nepal and the UK participated in the meeting. Future plans to study variability in the 3 pathogens in relation to inoculation techniques, differential lines, locations and observations to be recorded were finalised.
