Deficiency Symptom

In the early stages of deficiency, the younger leaves become yellow and pitting develops in the interveinal upper surfaces of the mature leaves. Later these symptoms develop into an intense interveinal necrosis but the main veins remain green.

Management

Organic farming in the long run may not show the problem of zinc deficiency. In the present time, zinc deficiency may appear and it must be corrected by spraying Zn SO₄ @ 0.5% (5kg and 2.5 Kg Lime in 1000 l of water per hectare) is recommended.
