WORK SHOP ON USE AND APPLICATION OF AGROPEDIA (23-01-12): EXPERIENCE SHARING

WORK SHOP ON USE AND APPLICATION OF AGROPEDIA (23-01-12)

The workshop on use and application of Agropedia was quite educative for participants like me who were new to using it. The various features of Agropedia was explained in a simple and elaborate manner so as to facilitate clear understanding of the available features and to make best use of them in our work. Dr Yaduraju explained why traditional extension is not working properly in India thus necessitating use of such knowledge management platforms. The use of Agropedia was explained to us in detail along with various features like wiki, blog, forum and chat options. The same can be used to help farmers in their own crop/situations by every trainee. vKVK and KVK net was also explained and it was explained in detail on how to send voice messages to farmers in local languages too. The module was highly informative. The presentation on RKMP (Rice Knowledge Management Portal) was highly effective and motivating. The enormous work done to bring up RKMP was explained and the possibility of replicating the same in our respective crops was highlighted.  Hands on training were provided with much care for our benefit. Overall the workshop was highly useful.
