Wonderful Experience of Rural youth at KVK Jeolikote

One day training on 'Agropedia and aAQUA' was organizWonderful Experience of Rural youth at KVK Jeolikoteed at KVK Jeolikote (Distt- Nainital, Uttarakhand) by Directorate of Extension Education, GBPUAT, Pantnagar on Mar.11, 2010 under NAIP entitled 'Redesigning the farmer extension-agriculture research/ education continuum in India with ICT mediated knowledge management,'  Participants were mostly rural youth. This was the follow up training of them in continuation with the training organized on Feb.15, 2010.

                                         

Youth showed their full interest and zeal to know more about the portals 'aAQUA and Agropedia'. They have already registered in Agropedia and aAQUA portal and they are getting the information on their mobiles as agri-tips which they are fruitfully utilizing also. But they showed their interest in getting the queries of their questions on their mobile phones.

              

Participants told that since their villages are isolated place in remote hill region so they get cut off from the main world regarding getting the agriculture related information. Further their queries regarding agriculture and allied field remain unanswered due to non reachability of extension personnel in their region. So this method of getting queries on their mobile will not only help them solving their problems but also they will come to know about recent knowledge about agriculture at their doorstep.Participants were interested to extend the training for 3-4 days instead of only one day so that they can know more about the portal and their usage.
