WHITE FLY: PEST OF AMERICAN COTTON
White fly is an important & key sucking pest of American cotton including its bt variants specially after 80's of last century in India. Nymph and adults of this insect suck sap from the underside of leaves. White fly not only lowers the vitality of plants by sucking sap but also acts as a vector for leaf curl viruses. Use of insecticides tllts condions in favour of the this insect. First and most needed step in pest management is to recognise insects properly.
