Threshing of Chickpea

Threshing
Threshing of Chickpea

Traditionally, farmers thresh their crop by trampling it with bullocks. The animals are allowed to walk on the plants in circles.

Continuous stirring of material is required for uniform threshing.

For easy threshing and to avoid damage to the seed, the seeds are removed from the threshing lot when about 60-70% seeds have separated from the straw. Now most farmers use commercially available power threshes.
