Leaf fodder
It is also one of the main insect-pest of basmati rice. Adult leaf folders are small in size. Their caterpillars damage the crop. The caterpillars fold the both corners of the leaves and remain into the folded leaf wherefrom they eat away the green matter of the leaves leaving white stripes thereupon. The damaged leaves slowly dry up and the plant becomes weak resulting in reduced productivity.
