Hands On session

After lunch we started for the Hands On session. The main motive stands providing practical knowledge to the participants because only theoretical knowledge is not enough if your aim is to get success in a particular field. Here in the Hands On session the participants are asked to be friendly with the site. The entire participants are told to browse through the agropedia site. They are asked to create their own account and become a registered user, learn the methods of uploading content and images to the site, add content, writing a wiki page in agrowiki, blog and forum and how to interact through chat. In this session they also get to learn to prepare knowledge models on different crops and upload journals and articles in openagri. The agropedia team is always present there to assist the participants in case they get stuck somewhere or have any query.

In continuation to this the Question and Answer session was conducted. In this session we raise question related to agropedia site and the participants are asked to answer. The participants get a good chance to be in interaction with the team, clear their doubts, and ask queries and give there feedbacks. The feedbacks taken guide us in improving our site and making it more user friendly for all kinds of users.

  • They liked the concept of knowledge model defining it as an interesting feature and asked to add more knowledge models.
  • They said learning through knowledge is easier.
  • They were not satisfied with one day training programme.
  • The participants found the agropedia site very interesting and assured to add contents to it.

We the IIT-K agropedia team were also obliged by the warm behaviour and co-operation they maintained throughout the training/workshop session which ultimately helped us in making it a successful one.
