My first NAIP workshop experience

"If you look like your passport photo, you're too ill to travel."

I love traveling. And the best part of any travel is the journey, especially by train. I enjoy seeing the many faces of 'mankind', the change in the landscape as you move from one region to another. More over a train journey is more relaxed where I get to stretch my legs, unlike in a flight where you sit cramped and are packed like sardines in a tin can. There is nothing to see other than the person next to you or the air hostess

In the train, I get time to think, reflect, day dream. Time to read a book as the countryside passes by. Get to see fights between passengers over 'parking' space for their luggage. I have always wondered why women passengers carry more luggages and the older they get the number of luggage pieces keeps increasing.

I am going to Delhi next week by train in the occasion of workshop on Crop Knowledge models and Agropedia.

"When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money."

We started preparing for workshop on Crop Knowledge models and agropedia from the time when date for Knowledge Model workshop was declared. We became more concentrated as the time for the workshop came closer.

On 9th January,2009 Prof. T. V. Prabhakar and Dr. Runa Sarkar called a meeting of agropedia team and discussed in detail about the programme for workshop.

A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.

On 10th January we left for New Delhi from Kanpur at 4.30PM by train. Our train was right time when it left Kanpur Junction but unfortunately due to some problem in the engine at Aligarh our journey was halted.  After one hour the engine was changed and then train moved from Aligarh. We reached two hours late at New Delhi station than we arranged for taxi and reached the Arpit Hotel, where our whole team has to stay. The long train journey was a joyful experience. I still remember the train journey.

Next day, i.e, 11th of January, 2009 we visited the venue for  the workshop and we planed how to arrange the things. Then we returned to our accommodation place. At 7 PM we joined the meeting with agropedia team and discussed the plan of action for the first day of the workshop.

Today I have attended workshop on Crop Knowledge models and agropedia.

Better to say travel experience

I think it is more on your travel experience for that particular workshop than on the workshop itself.
