Management of Paddy bacterial blight in TBP Commond area

In recent seasons (last 2-3 including present summer) paddy in TBP area suffers losses due to more incidences of bacterial blight associated with sheath blight. It may be higher during these days due to seed borne inoculum, excess use of Nitrogenous fertilisers along with continous flood irrigation from affected areas. To manage the disease its very important to followed integrated approaches such as use of healthy disease free seeds; seed treatment with streptocylcine sulphate and Copper sulphate @ 1gm each in lit water;  application of Recommonded Nitrogenous fertiliser in 3 to 4 split doses if disease seems to be spreading skip the last dose; don't irrgigate the field from affected field water; take control measures for sucking pests of paddy especially hoppers; spray streptocycline sulphate and copper oxy chlioride @ 0.1 to 0.3 gms /1 lit water based  on severity of the disease; spray volume should be between 500 to 750 lt per ha based on the crop growth stages and canopy
