ICRISAT develops high yield hybrid red gram pulse

 

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid-Tropics (ICRISAT), hyderabad has developed two new hybrids of pigeonpea- ICPH 2740 and ICPH 2671 in collaboration with ICAR. These hybrids having 30% more yield potential than other hybrids. The crop maturity duration is 180 days with Seed yields 1500-1600 kg/ha. Pigeonpea also popularly known as tur, arhar or red gram is a primary source of protein for millions in India.
