  • Mixed cropping of chilli, coriander and garlic help in controlling wilt in chilli. The smell of garlic and coriander act as insect repellent besides fetching additional income of coriander leaf from time to time to farmers.
  • Trap crops like Tagetes patula and Tagetes species are cultivated along with main crops like tobacco and chilli during rainy (Kharif) season to control pest attack. Mainly trap crop is grown between and along sides of main crop. Insect-pests lay their eggs on yellow flowers of the trap crop which later starve to death due to shortage of food.
  • Spraying of kerosene@1 litre/ha mixed with soap and water help in controlling leaf folder and stem borer in paddy.
  • Wheat seed treatment with cow urine help reduction of termite attack at germination stage. Wheat seeds are either dipped or sprayed by cow urine. These seeds are dried in shade and sowing of such seeds has reduced attack of termites.
