Chemical Pest Control Practices

  • Seed treatment with Chlorpyriphos 20 E.C @ 2.5 to 12.5 ml. / kg seed or Quinalphos* @ 25 mi. / kg. seed (in endemic areas against white grub)
  • Kill the beetles by spraying 200 gm Sevin/Hexavin 50 W.P. (Carbaryl ) in 100 litres of water on the preferred hosts such as Ber, Guava, Grapevine, Almonds.
  • Application of Alachlor 2.5 kg. a.i / ha, Pendimethalin @ 0.75 to 1.5 kg.a.i/ha. Oxyfluorfen 0.1 to 0.2kga.i/ha as pre- emergence and Fluchloralin @ 1.0 kg a.i / ha as pre- sowing soil incorporation for weed control.
  • Seed treatment with carbendazim @ 2 g/kg seed against seed/ seedling rot diseases.
  • Use Carbendazim @ 375 g/ha for controlling leaf spots/ rusts 4-5 weeks after sowing.
  • Use 0.005% Bromadialone in ready - to -use form or wax blocks for rodent control.
  • Soil application of Phorate or Carbofuran granules @ 1.0 kg a.i /ha. Against white grubs.
