Chemical control of Chilli thrips
Seed treatment with imidacloprid 60 FS @ 20ml/kg of seeds.
Seedling dips with imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 1:20 ml.
- Karnataka: Spray of oxydemeton methyl 25EC @ 1.5ml/lit or dimethoate 30EC @ 1.75ml/lit or acephate 1gm/lit or imidacloprid 17SL @ 0.3ml/lit or fipronil 5SC @ 1.0ml/lit or diafenthurion 25 WP @ 1.0gm/lit or spinosad 45SC @ 0.12ml/lit or acetamiprid 20 SP @ 0.2 g/lit of water.
- Tamil Nadu: Spray dimethoate 30 EC @ 2ml/lit or methyl demeton 25 EC @ 2ml/lit and also Carbofuran 3G @ 200g/ cent area in the nursery.
- Coimbatore: Spray dimethoate 30 EC @ 2 ml/lit or methyl demeton 25 EC @ 2 ml/lit or dust quinalphos 1.5 D at 20 kg/ha thrice at fortnightly intervals.
- Andhra Pradesh: Application of fipronil 0.3% granules @ 8 Kg/ha at 15 and 45 DAT and Spray carbaryl 3g or Phasalone 3ml or fipronil @ 2 ml or Chlorfenpyr @ 2ml or Difenthurion @1.5g or Spinosad @ 0.25ml per one liter of water. In severe conditions repeat the spray with 4-6 days interval
- NHB: Spray Carbaryl 0.15% (3g/litre of water) or Phasalone 0.1 % (3ml/litre or water) or Methyl demton 0.05% (2ml/litre) or acephate 1g/litre or triazophos 1ml or fipronil 2ml or Monocrotophos 1.5 ml/lit of water.
