Botrytis Gray Mold

General

  • Caused by Botrytis cinerea.

Symptoms

  1. Usually appears when plants are flowering, as dark gray fungal growth on the growing tips, flowers and pods.
  2. Infected flowers drop reducing pod set.
  3. The shed flowers and leaves on the ground are covered with sporulating mycelium of the fungus (Figure).

Management

  • Spraying Chlorothalonil 3 g per liter of water is effective.
