धान में नेक ब्लास्ट

Posted in

Management of Neck Blast in rice

  • Treat the seed at the rate of 10 kg seed with 5 g Emisan, 1 g Streptocycline or 2.5 g Agrimycine 100 in 10 litres of water for 24 hours before sowing.
  • In standing crop spray with 0.1% Hinosan 50EC or Carbendazim (Bavistin).Four to five spray would be required to protect the crop. One spray should be given in nursery, two during tillering and one to two during panicle emergence stage.

CONTROL OF BLAST

Hi,

The two most effective molecules for Neck blast (Pyricularia oryzae) are:

1) Fujione (Isoprothiolane).

2) Hinosan (Ediphenphos)

3) Kitazin (Iprobenphos)

I personally do not recommend Hinosan at this stage due to high toxicity and 2 sprays of Fujione at 10-15 day interval is the standard practice. One may also try a combination of KITAZIN+FUJIONE (first do a pilot in a small patch). The recommended dosage for both the products is 250ml in 200 litres of water as soon as symptoms appear.DO NOT REDUCE THE DOSAGE IF USING IN COMBINATION.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Do not spray against the wind direction.
  • Always wear protective clothing while handling.
  • Do not smoke, eat or drink during application.
  • Wash hands and body thoroughly after spraying.

ANTIDOTE:

  • There is no specific antidote for (Fujione) Isoprothiolane.
  • For Kitazin (Iprobenphos) the recommended treatment is as under:

Administer 2 to 4 mg atropine sulphate repeatedly at 10 to 15 minutes interval till symptoms persist or administer 2 PAM intravenously slowly, taking 5 to 10 minutes, after dissolving in 10 cc distilled water. Avoid Morphine Thiophenylene or Aninophenylene. Give artificial respiration.

blast - a common disease

farmers can use TRICYCLAZOLE (0.1%)  15 g / in 15 litre of water and easily available in market
