Contingency plan for Cotton due to delayed monsoon

  • Cotton crop can be sown up to the end of June in Central and South India.  If the monsoon is delayed beyond 10th July, cotton cultivation is not recommended.
  • For delayed sowing conditions (up to 10th July), the recommended desi and short duration American cotton varieties/ hybrids can be grown.

Note:

  • Spray 5.5g soluble sulphur per liter of water or 2.5ml dicofal 18.5 EC with any compatible insecticides in Mite endemic areas.
  • Leaf spot disease Spray 2g/l water of zineb or 3g CuSo4 or 4 g ziram.
