Purpose of Description

ICSV 745 is a midge-resistant sorghum line developed at ICRISAT Asia Center, Patancheru, India. It has been released for cultivation in Karnataka as DSV 3. It has also performed well in on-farm trials in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in India, and in Sudan.

Purpose of Description

ICSV 692, ICSV 729, ICSV 730, ICSV 731, ICSV 736, ICSV 739, ICSV 744, ICSV 745, and ICSV 748 are midge-resistant sorghum lines developed at ICRISAT Center. These lines can be used in sorghum improvement programs in different countries, or adapted per se for cultivation by farmers in areas endemic to sorghum midge.

Purpose of Description

ICSV 145 was recommended in 1987 by the All India Coordinated Sorghum Improvement Project (AICSIP) for cultivation in Striga-endemic orghumgrowingareas of India. It has been specifically bred for resistance to the white-flowered strain of Striga asiatica that occurs in India.
