Purpose of Description

ICGV 88145 and ICGV 89104 are high-yielding, elite breeding lines with high levels of resistance to seed infection by the aflatoxin-producing fungus Aspergillus flavus.

Purpose of Description

ICGV 86015 is an early-maturing, high-yielding breeding line. It is under consideration for release as Hung Loc 25 (HL 25) in Vietnam where it was found to be most suitable for intercropping with cassava and maize. It is also proposed for release as BARD 92 in Pakistan for double-cropping with wheat.

ICGS 114 was introduced into Ghana in 1985. In 1989, it was released as Sinkarzei by the Crops Research Institute Varietal Release Committee of the Nyankpala Agricultural Experiment Station, Tamale, Ghana, for cultivation in the Guinean and Sudan Savannah Zones of the country.

Purpose of Description

ICGL 6 has distinctive leaf characteristics. Most of its leaves are puckered (partially crinkled) with a yellow stripe along their margins. A few of the older leaves are phenotypically normal. Variants such as ICGL 6 are useful markers in genetic studies.

Purpose of Description

ICGV 86031 is a high-yielding improved germplasm line with multiple resistance to and/or tolerance of insect pests (thrips, jassid, Spodoptera, and groundnut leaf miner), and bud necrosis disease. It is also resistant to bud necrosis virus, iron chlorosis, and insensitive to photoperiod (Table 1).
