Introduction of Litchi

The food value of litchi mainly lies in its sugar and acid contents which again vary due to cultivars and climate. The sugar content in different cultivars ranges from 6.74 to 20.12 per cent in India. Besides sugar, litchi contains 0.7% protein, 0.3% fat, 0.7% minerals and vitamins C, A, B1 and B2.
